How Much Can You Save With A Water Fuelled Car?

As conventional fuel prices continue to escalate it seems only natural to look for ways of reducing the reliance on gasoline as a means to power vehicles, and look to using some of the more abundant and cheaper resources. The idea of water-fuelled cars have been around for years, and the first designs utilised electrolysis to extract a hydrogen oxygen gas (HHO) from water which could be injected into a regular internal combustion engine. However these designs were unsuccessful, simple because they could not extract enough of the high-energy gas from water, to power the engine effectively. Basically unlike gasoline water is a stable chemical compound, with a strong molecular structure that does not react easily with external influences. Gasoline contains unstable compounds, which combust under pressure or heat, and it is this process that releases the higher energy needed to run a car. Using portable electrolysis kits, it is possible to extract small amounts of HHO from a tank of water, but this must be mixed with regular gasoline in order to power your engine efficiently.

So can water fuel actually save you money? Well theoretically yes, as an electrolysis kit fitted to your car can significantly reduce your use of gasoline, and increase overall mileage and engine efficiency. The principle of injecting HHO gas into your engine is that it supplements your regular fuel injection, by reacting with the gasoline to cause it to vaporise. In most engines gasoline arrives in the carburettors/manifold in droplets that are then mixed with air. In actual fact most of this gasoline burnt is wasted, and by using HHO to vaporise the fuel, means that you are burning smaller particles, only what you actually need to power the engine. With a water fuel supplement you are able to run a much leaner fuel/air mix, and this will mean that you are running your engine on less fuel, and significantly decreasing the cost to run your vehicle.

There are various kits and systems around with which you can modify your car to run on a water gas supplement, and these range from ready made electrolysis cells, to guidebooks on electrolysis systems that can be made from scratch and installed at home. These products vary in price from $150-$1000 and most systems guarantee at least a 20% saving on fuel costs, the effects of which you should see immediately after installation. The money you save varies from vehicle to vehicle, but some people have reported savings of up to 60% at the gas pump. Water fuel is also said to keep your engine cleaner, and prevents carbon deposits from building up, which decreases engine efficiency.

Some people have reported that the chassis and exhaust systems are subject to increased chances of rust using this system as water is one of the waste by products, so to prevent all the money you are saving on fuel being wasted on repairing parts for rust, you may want to consider coating the exposed parts of the chassis, exhaust system and engine with an anti-rust treatment.
