Punch HHO review, review of Punch HHO

Punch HHO is a system that utilises electrolysis to extract hydrogen and oxygen from water (HHO), which supplements the regular combustible fuel used in your engine. This means you can run your car or truck on a leaner fuel/air mix, significantly increasing your overall mileage, and reducing fuel costs and emissions in both petrol and diesel vehicles.

As well as utilising hydrogen to improve engine efficiency and performance, the Punch HHO system can also be used in conjunction with fuel additives such as xylene and acetone. These high energy additives also work to combust fuel more efficiently, and when combined with positive driving habits can have a significant impact improving mileage.

There are several key components to the Punch HHO system:

* Fuel Pre-heater: this simple device is placed on the radiator hose and uses wasted heat energy from the engine to preheat the gasoline before it is injected into the manifold or carburettor. The theory is that the gasoline expands in the heat and when it reaches the engine has formed vaporisation, so that you are combusting fine, rather than dense drops of fuel, reducing wastage.
* Electrolyzer: This is the main component of the system and is the electrolysis cell that extracts the HHO gas from the water. This is powered by the car's battery, and the HHO gas output is transferred directly into the manifold or carburettor. The theory is that the HHO reacts with the gasoline to create vaporization, and like the pre-heater this means that smaller particles of fuel are burnt in the combustion process, increasing fuel efficiency.
* ECU Compensator: It is possible that the ECU (car computer) of your vehicle will see this additional oxygen in the exhaust fumes through its sensors and conclude that your fuel mix is running to lean for the engine. It will then compensate this by increasing fuel injection, which will negate the efforts of the Punch HHO system. Therefore you may need a device to manipulate the oxygen sensors such as an electronic fuel injection enhancer. Or you could adapt the oxygen sensors by insulating them in aluminium foil wrapping, which would reduce their sensitivity to oxygen in the exhaust fumes.

The Punch HHO systems start at $299 with the Punch 1.0 system. This includes an electrolyzer with an output of 1 litre per minute, which is LPM and leak tested before shipping. All Punch systems come with safety warnings, as HHO is a highly volatile gas that can explode in certain circumstances, such as exposure to air or a naked flame. Also the device should be fitted exactly according to the instructions, and only fitted to the air intake on the engine. The device should never be installed inside the travelling compartment of your vehicle. Punch HHO systems are designed to run off a certain ampere, and for the 1.0 system it is recommended never to exceed more that 20 amps, to prevent excess heat occurring.
